My
name is Michael Joseph Linardi. I grew up in Baltimore. Maryland. I'm
one of 4 siblings of a large Italian family. Lots of pasta on Sundays
after church. I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I'm a gay man. I
have a wonderful partner, a local veterinarian. We're restoring our 100
year old farmhouse in the country. We love to garden, exercise and
spend time with our three Irish Setters. My great passion, in addition
to digging in the dirt, is riding my horse. I ride several times a week
and enjoy competing in horse shows. I love the beach and spending time
with good friends. Life is very, very good! My education and
experience is in the field of behavior change with a masters degree in
Health and Fitness Management from American University. For the last 20
years I've provided health education, prevention and health promotion
programs in corporate and managed care settings. I've worked for
Johnson and Johnson, General Motors, General Dynamics, Gannett
Corporation and most recently, Carefirst. A few years ago I
was searching for the next path in my career. After 20 years in
corporate I had become a 9 to 5 "paper pusher". I wanted more flexibity
in my life, more reward, a higher sense of accomplishment at the end of
a day. I discovered "coaching" and quickly realized that this was to be
my next path. As I look back on my life it seems that I have always
been a coach. In my youth, when my peers would split over an argument,
I was always the kid on the fence. I was the one they came to to solve
the problem. In my various positions I was always the guy other
employees would confide in when facing a challenge in their lives. I
loved that role and continue to enjoy it today in my coaching practice. In
early 1999 I enrolled in Coach University's coach training program and
began coaching part-time. In June 2001, I stepped through the fear and
quit my corporate job to start my company, Halcyon Coaching. This was a
momentus decision that would change my life. My clients come
from all walks of life. I work with executives, managers, professional
moms, students, displaced employees, small business owners, and
entreprenures to name a few. We work on issues related to transtion,
career, passion, relationships, self-care, balance, and taking action
to design the life that they really want.
I work with businesses
in areas of management and organizational skills, creating efficiences,
visioning and basic business development. I absolutely love coaching and feel very blessed to do the work that I do!
